On Scene With Indian River Habitat for Humanity The 7th Annual HabiTrot to Higher Education was held at South Beach Park in Vero Beach. Proceeds from this annual event will help fund the Habitat Scholarship Program, which was established in 2008. More than $250,000 has been awarded.

On Scene With Samaritan center Anna Nichols was honored for her outstanding commitment to community at the 21st Annual “Home is Where the Heart Is” celebration to benefit Samaritan Center. More than $54,000 was raised thanks, in part, to John Moore and Wesley Davis, who led the crowd in spirited bidding.

On Scene With Florida Oceanographic Society “Oceans Alive, Tides of Time” raised more than $300,000 for Florida Oceanographic Society. The 50th anniversary gala generated funding for operation of the 750,000-gallon game fish lagoon and life support systems that keep the animals at the Florida Oceanographic happy and healthy, as well as for summer programs that provide children and teenagers with environmental education.
