On Scene With Indian River Habitat for Humanity The 7th Annual HabiTrot to Higher Education was held at South Beach Park in Vero Beach. Proceeds from this annual event will help fund the Habitat Scholarship Program, which was established in 2008. More than $250,000 has been awarded.
On Scene With Inner Truth Project Luna Fest, featuring short-films by, for and about women, was held to benefit the Inner Truth Project. About 75 people attended the opening night reception with everyone enjoying the food, fun and films.

Richardson Entrepreneurship Program’s 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award.. The award, which recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit and business and community achievement, is a central element of the Dan K. Richardson Entrepreneurship Program established by the IRSC Foundation.
On Scene With Florida Oceanographic Society “Oceans Alive, Tides of Time” raised more than $300,000 for Florida Oceanographic Society. The 50th anniversary gala generated funding for operation of the 750,000-gallon game fish lagoon and life support systems that keep the animals at the Florida Oceanographic happy and healthy, as well as for summer programs that provide children and teenagers with environmental education.
On Scene With World Wings International The fun-loving and philanthropic former Pan Am flight attendants who comprise World Wings International hosted an entertaining and successful Trivia Night at Yacht and Country Club of Stuart that benefitted SafeSpace.
On Scene With House of Hope The 15th Annual Luncheon to benefit House of Hope was a glamorous yet down-to-earth event at Sailfish Point Country Club. Judge/author John Kralik discussed “A Simple Act of Gratitude” and how his year-long mission of mailing out hand-written thank-you notes changed his life for the better.
On Scene With United Way of St. Lucie County United Ways of St. Lucie and Martin counties celebrated with Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club donors and volunteers after another outstanding fundraising campaign. Led co-chairs Mike and Penny Carr, $229,00 was raised to be distributed to St. Lucie and Martin County programs benefiting health, income and education programs.
On Scene With Homeless Family Center Chef Dean Evans won the Top Chef Challenge to benefit Homeless Family Center with his combination of pan seared sea scallops, key lime butter blanc, curried butternut squash puree, rice noodle pancake and Asian vegetable slaw. On Scene With AAUW Ninety people attended the golden anniversary of the AAUW in Vero Beach. The program recalled the branch history, highlighted shared memories, lauded personal achievements and honored member service. The branch was founded in 1964 and currently boasts the second largest membership of the State's 38 branches.
On Scene With .... Hobe Sound Animal Protection League Cocktails for Kitties was an elegant fundraiser for this not-for-profit that has an effective spay/neuter program for our feline friends, as well as a beautiful facility at which they can await adoption or live out their lives in comfort.
