They will now go to Seattle to compete in the 17th annual National Ocean Sciences Bowl at the university of Washington on May 1-4. On Scene With … AAUW Stuart Area Branch The Stuart Area branch of American Association of University Women is a fun-loving and philanthropic group, as witnessed by the enthusiastic turnout at Mariner Sands Country Club for the Annual Scholarship Luncheon/Fashion Show. AAUW will award $6,000 in scholarships to graduating Martin County seniors this year.

On Scene With Heathcote Botanical Gardens The rain sure didn’t dampen the spirits of guests at the 4th Annual Bonsai Ball to benefit Heathcote Botanical Gardens. The delicious dinner was provided by Huck’s Catering, during which the Fusha Taiko Drummers performed, and the silent auction was nearly as spirited at the live auction, which was led by the talented and gracious Reed Hartman. The final auction items were a flock of hand-painted flamingos, each going to a new and deserving home. Committee members Tommie McDermid, Ally Stewart, Jay Schneider, Cris Adams, Robin Goldman and Miriam Charles are to be commended.

On Scene With Roseann Gregory Foundation The Roseann Gregory Cancer Foundation hosted yet another extremely successful event, Bella Notte, an Evening in Italy, featuring more than 320 guests, nationally renowned impersonators “The Rat Pack & Friends,” as well dancing, a live auction and a four-course gourmet Italian dinner featuring Tutto Fresco’s Chef Pasquale LaMar and Dominick’s Catering. Funds raised will go towards assisting local cancer patients and research.
